Sam – Maternity shoot

So a good photographer friend of mine – took the time awhile ago to explain off camera flash to me – and well I never really had a chance to try it out as I didn’t want to mess around too much on a paying clients shoot. With the time clock ticking down to serious wedding season fast – I asked my assistant Sam to be my subject. Sam has willingly sat for me to take photos of her before but this session is a little more special as her and her husband are expecting a little bundle. So we joyously went out to try the techniques on her belly Even if I didn’t know Sam these photos would be pretty close to my heart – but knowing her story and what kind of person she is makes these photos one of my favourite shoots to date

This one was taken down by the water at Morgan’s point and I kinda wanted to block out a lot of the background and just get Sam and her baby

This is my favorite image and I feel like it’s her and the baby against the world. She just looks so protective in this shot and I love it because that’s how most mom’s are

Needless to say we had a great time and I can’t wait to get out and do the next series of shots – Sam’s still got quite a few more months in her pregnancy

Introducing the staff at ALP . . .

So i know there is an “about us” section of the blog but I don’t think words can ever truly describe how much I am lucky to work with the people I do and get along with them so well. So yesterday when out on a shoot I decided to take a few photos on my ladies and well some of my hubby will come a little later Perhaps in warmer weather

Here is a photo of Samantha – who runs her own photography business but is also my assistant photographer on weddings and shoots when my husband can’t make it.

The newest addition to our team is Brianne – she is a student from Notre Dame here at Amanda Lachapelle Photography doing a co-op placement and will be helping out this summer as well.
